How Far Gone Is Your Ash Tree? People often ask us here at Tree Medics, "Is my ash tree still savable," more than often we tell them, "It depends". There are many variables that come into play when considering the longevity and health of an Ash Tree. Some will argue that you can tell based just on the canopy, however in some cases this is false. A tree can (but not always) handle stress well in certain environments as long as they have the necessary nutrients and sunlight to do so. Trees can rejuvenate after a treatment, but environmental factors come into play as well. Such as, weather, placement of tree, and most importantly overall health of the tree. Sadly once an ash tree is infested with Emerald Ash Borer it declines rather rapidly. So treatment is considered necessary as soon as we see signs. We may even suggest treatment before infestation, as the old saying goes, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." If you see EAB (Emerald Ash Borer) close to your property/trees. Do not hesitate, the best thing to to is call Tree Medics and begin monitoring and consider a preventative treatment.
